Abroad Study : Study in Australia

Australia is growing as a popular Study Abroad destination in recent years. It is most suitable for students seeking their further studies in an English speaking country. Australia is a safe study destination, and Australian degrees are globally recognized. Australia has six states
New South Wales (NSW)     Queensland (QLD),     South Australia (SA),     Tasmania (TAS),     Victoria (VIC) and
Western Australia (WA) and two major mainland territories, the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and
the Northern Territory (NT).
In most respects, these two territories function as states, except that the Commonwealth Parliament has the power to modify or repeal any legislation passed by the territory parliaments.
Australian Universities offer roughly 100 subjects of study and most universities offer a wide variety of courses to choose from. After completing a two-year study from an Australian institution, one can get permission for a two-year working visa, namely Post Study Work (PSW).
Australia is among the top three most preferred student destinations in the world, along with the United Kingdom and the USA. It has “top 50 ranked universities” in the world in selected study areas. Its an English speaking country with a friendly environment. For Nepalese students, it’s a comparatively nearby destination, and the weather is also in a similar range.

Both Australia’s economy and per capita income fall among the world’s largest top twenty countries.

Tuition fees vary from around 16,000 to 30,000 Australian Dollars per year. approximate average amount would fall within AUD 22000 to 25000 per year.

STANDARD LIVING COST FOR STUDENT
Living costs include accommodation, food, and bills, and clothing as necessary, and will vary according to your lifestyle. As a general guide, the estimated annual cost for a single student living in Australia comes to a total of about AUD$18,610 per year.
In practical, Nepalese Students can survive with ease at as minimum as AUD$ 10,000 per year.
The most expensive Australian city to live in is Sydney. The ranking of major university cities from cheapest city to most expensive is: (1) Hobart (2) Wollongong (3) Adelaide (4) Gold Coast (5) Brisbane (6 )Canberra (7) Perth (8) Melbourne (9) Darwin (10) Sydney.

MINIMUM WAGE
Students are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week while studying and in most cases if the study duration is 2 years or above, they can get a PSW work permit (Post Study Work) of 2 more years after successful completion of their studies.
The job market has become more competitive in recent years. One should be prepared to cover the expenses of the initial few months. Residence, college and workplace location should fit best for maximum benefit.
The minimum wage in Australia is AUD17.70
But in practice, a non-skilled Nepalese student should expect and take the amount AUD 12 as the base amount for their budget calculation.
