David L. Callender, M.D., was appointed president of the UT Medical Branch at Galveston in September 2007. Dr. Callender also holds an appointment in otolaryngology and is a head and neck surgeon with a special interest in head and neck cancer. Previously Dr. Callender served as the associate vice chancellor and CEO for the UCLA Hospital System. Prior to that he held numerous administrative positions at the UT M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
