Courses at SEED

1. THE ACCA QUALIFICATION

The ACCA Qualification is a highly-regarded accountancy qualification. In order to become a qualified chartered certified accountant and use the designatory letters “ACCA” after your name you need to complete:
  • 13 exams (exemption can be claimed up to nine exams)
  • Three-years relevant practical experience requirements
  • An Ethics and Professional Skills module

Course Description for ACCA

ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the largest and fastest-growing international accountancy body, with over 486,000 students and 200,000 members in 179 countries. More people around the world qualify in-country with ACCA than any other international body. ACCA’s reputation and influence are respected worldwide by employers, the government, and the profession itself.

ACCA’s Members, who are known as Chartered Certified Accountants, are employed in industry, financial services, the public sector, or in public practice. With statutory recognition in the UK and Ireland it has the authority to license its members to work as registered auditors. In the UK, it also authorises its members to undertake insolvency work. Outside the UK, ACCA’s are recognized under the EU’s Mutual Recognition Directive and in many countries around the world.

 

2. Diploma in Accounting and Business – Foundation In Accountancy (FIA)

Foundations in Accountancy is a suite of accountancy awards from ACCA for those wanting to start a career in accounting and finance. If you are a recent school leaver, have no accounting experience or do not have the required academic standard to begin ACCA you should start on the FIA route.

The FIA Qualification consists of three modules and a Foundation in Professionalism.

  • FMA- Management Accounting
  • FAB- Accountant in Business
  • FFA- Financial Accounting

So if you study for any of our Foundation-level qualifications and want a certificate as proof of the exams you have completed, you are also required to complete Foundations in Professionalism(acca in nepal). This is an online, interactive module, designed to help you develop your understanding of what it means to act professionally and ethically in the work you carry out.

You can complete Foundations in Professionalism before or after completing the exam component of the qualification you are aiming to achieve and you only need to successfully complete the module once, even if you decide to complete one or more of our qualifications.

Once you complete FIA you will be awarded with Diploma in Accounting and Business Qualification from ACCA, UK.

Awarding Body: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK

Entry Requirements: +2 Passed with below 50% in any individual paper and failing to score 65 in any two of the papers including English and Mathematics/2 A levels.

3. B.Sc (Hons) in Applied Accounting

ACCA and Oxford Brookes University (OBU) have worked together to develop a BSc in Applied Accounting, which is available exclusively to ACCA students who wish to obtain a degree while studying towards the ACCA qualification. BSc degree and ACCA professional qualification are a powerful combination of qualifications that put you in demand with employers and improve your career prospects. OBU’s BSc degree in Applied Accounting is a highly regarded qualification, which is based on practical, professional, employer driven accounting requirements. It enables you to prove that not only have you mastered the knowledge required for the degree, but that you have the key skills required by graduate employers.

Course Description

This valuable initiative enables students to sit for an Oxford Brookes BSc Honours degree in Applied Accounting while taking their ACCA examinations.

The Oxford Brookes BSc (Hons) Degree in Applied Accounting is a highly regarded qualification, which is based on practical, professional, employer–driven Accounting requirements. It enables students to prove that not only have they mastered the knowledge required for the degree, but that they have the key skills required by graduate employers.

Awarding Body: Oxford Brookes University

Entry Requirements:ACCA Skills Level Completed. Students should have met the english language requirement before they have passed FR,AA and FM papers.

Intake : January/June

4. Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (DipIFR)

If you are a finance professional who is not already knowledgeable about the details of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), this qualification has a fast and efficient solution to meet your needs. If you need to develop a working knowledge of the area, the DipIFR can help prepare you.

Course Description

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are mandated in more than 100 countries worldwide. All listed companies in the European Union (EU) have to prepare consolidated company accounts that comply with IFRS. It also affects associates and subsidiaries of EU-listed companies.

Other countries such as Australia, Hong Kong and South Africa have already adopted IFRS or equivalents as their local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). And many other countries around the world, including Nepal, are moving towards applying IFRS, which is having a significant impact on financial reporting.

Awarding Body: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants

Entry Requirements: If you are a professional accountant or auditor who works in practice or business, and are qualified according to national accounting standards, then you are eligible to take this ACCA financial reporting qualification.

If you are working in practice, but not yet qualified, then you may still be eligible. You will need to prove that you have one of the following:

-Two years’ relevant accounting experience and a relevant degree (attracting at least ACCA qualification exemptions for the Applied Knowledge and Corporate and Business Law (LW) exams)
-Two years‘ relevant accounting experience and an ACCA Certificate in International Financial Reporting
-Three years’ relevant accounting experience
-ACCA affiliate status
