  • KUUMAT (BBA/BBIS/BHTM)

KUUMAT stands for Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission Test. The test is made by Kathmandu University is administered by Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM). KUUMAT is the first phase test of admission test for students willing to study at Kathmandu University in management programs (BBA, BBIS and BHTM). After passing KUUMAT, you will be eligible to tapply for admission in KUSOM and its affiliated colleges.

KUUMAT will be based on the following assessment domains:

  •  General SAT
  •  SAT Mathematics Test
  •  A set of sample questions for KUUMAT is attached with the application blank for KUUMAT.
  •  KUUMAT eligibility test will be a pen and paper written test.
  •  The KUUMAT shall comprise of a single test, comprising of both the assessment domains.
  • The test shall consist of multiple choice items

 

 

  • CMAT (BBA/BHM/BIM/BBM)

It is an Entrance Exam for students who want to join Bachelor Programs in the field of Management after completing +2 in Management or Science stream. For admission in Tribhuvan University constituent and affiliated colleges, The Faculty of Management takes CMAT Exam each year for admission in Bachelor Programs like BBA (Bachelors in Business Administration), BIM (Bachelors in Information Management), BHM (Bachelors in Hotel Management), BTTM (Bachelors in Travel and Tourism)and BBM (Bachelors in Business Management).

There shall be altogether one hundred (100) objective questions in the CMAT containing twenty (25) questions in each section with a total weight of 100 marks. A student must secure a minimum of 40% in the CMAT in order to qualify for the interview.

  •  Verbal ( English) carries 25 questions
  •  Quantitative ( Math) carries 25 questions
  •  Logical Reasoning carries 25 questions
  •  General Awareness carries 25 questions

WHO CAN APPLY?

+2 or equivalent with at least 45 % marks

 

  • KUMAT/SOMAT (MBA Entrance Preparation)

MBA is a degree highly sought after by entrepreneurial students looking to gain an edge in the business world in a variety of different markets and corporations. The MBA program is designed to develop a person’s skills in many areas of business, providing them with an extremely broad knowledge as well as acute abilities. As business operations may have myriad aspects attached to it, students in a MBA program are exposed to a variety of subjects like economics, organizational behavior, marketing, accounting,finance, strategy, operations management, advertising, international business, information technology management, supply chain management, project management, government policy and ethics. Elective courses offer a person the opportunity to develop specialized skills, such as a concentration in the banking and Insurance industry.

TU SOM shall conduct a four-stage admission test for appropriate screening of MBA applicants. The applicants shall be screened in each of the stages.

  •  Written test: This test will be based on the GMAT format. The duration of the test will be 2 hours.
  •  Group discussion: Groups discuss on a given topic. Performance of applicants is recorded by a panel of judges based on leadership, logic, and conclusions.
  •  Individual presentation: Applicants present their views and opinions on a given topic to the panel of judges.
  •  Personal interview: Personal interview to measure applicants motivation level, attitude and capability to handle the pressure and rigors of the MBA program.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Nepali and non-Nepali nationals with a Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent of at least three years duration in any discipline with a minimum of 50% in aggregate or 2.5 CGPA on a scale of 4 from universities recognized are eligible to apply for Two-Year MBA program.
